Just a Quick Grin

You know those days where you don't really want to paint a "masterpiece," but you just need to get some color on paper? That’s exactly where this sketch came from.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in my sketchbook lately, mostly because it's the one place where I feel totally fine with making a mess. For this one, I wasn't worried about perfect lines or blending—I just wanted to capture that huge, slightly chaotic energy of a wide-open grin.
Why I choose this one:
The Messy Colors: I let the watercolors do their own thing. If the blue bled into the jawline? Cool. If the red was a bit too bright? Even better.
Zooming In: Sometimes a whole face is too much pressure. Focusing just on the mouth and the "expression lines" felt way more fun.
Zero Stress: Total time? Maybe 20 minutes. It’s a reminder that art doesn't always have to be a marathon.
There's something about a "rough" sketch and a quick brush strokes that feels more alive than a finished painting sometimes. It’s raw, it’s quick, and it’s just... fun.
"Don't overthink it. Just grab a brush and see what happens."
Enjoy the chaos!
